Bombay blasts

Please stop calling it 7/11. Its not funny or witty and this is not a game and we are not playing catch-up-with-the-US.

And how are our government websites doing? Head over to [[http://www.india.gov.in/|National Portal of India]] — its hard to find out if anything has even changed. The “scrolling” news update talks about Hero Honda quarterly profits. Oh wait, over at the far right there’s a press release “PM condems bomb blasts” — I haven’t seen a more redundant and rhetorical press release. //Of course// the PM has condemned the blasts!!!! He can’t approve of them, can he? He’s the god-damn Prime Minister you know!!!

A search for “bombay blasts” on the same site gives **NO RESULTS**. Beat that. NO RESULTS? Yes, I know people will tell me that at the time of such a crisis, the Government has better things to do than update the website. Well, for everyone’s sake, I hope thats true. Until then, head over to Yahoo/Google/Technorati to find resources/information regarding the blasts.

    Hi Diwaker

Its good to see the way you feel for all this. There just one thing that i would like to add here.. I think its time that we stop relying and expecting anything from these politicians, police, and govt.. I think the time has come when Indians have finally found their voice.. Its time we stand up and fight for ourselves.. Its time WE change the way things are.. What do you say?

*@shivani*: Hey! Part of the problem (and responsibility) of being the worlds largest democracy is that all problems can’t be solved “outside” the system. We may stand up and fight all we want for ourselves, but for any sustainable change, the system needs to evolve — this includes politics and police among other things.
