Happy Diwali

Greetings y’all!

As some of you may know, millions of people around the world are celebrating [[wp>Diwali|Diwali]] these days (I say //these days// instead of //today// to take into account the time zone disparities and the fact that many people actually celebrate Diwali over a span of 2-3 days). Its the biggest festival in my family, and one that I miss the most since in our family Diwali is much like Thanksgiving — an occassion to get together with the family, share meals together and have a good time.

So here’s wishing a very happy Diwali to everyone. If you are lucky to be spending Diwali at home, have fun and make the most of it! Those who are celebrating Diwali in the company of friends (like me), have fun nonetheless!

Yesterday [[http://acs.ucsd.edu/~aigs|AIGS]] and [[http://hscucsd.org|Hindu Student Council, UCSD]] organized a Diwali puja. It was very nice — probably one of the most elaborate Diwali puja’s I’ve ever attended. People showed up in large numbers (I think there were 60+ people at the least) and the prasad was amazing. If you missed it this year, definitely check it out next year.
