@priyendra: wah wah, kya loyalty hai! Of course I tried Google image search man. But I’m not sure you did. Because if you did, you would know the difference in the quality of images available from say Flickr or stock.xchng. Google image search doesn’t even come close.

Well, I don’t wanna turn this into a flickr vs. google war :) But I did search on google and the first image that turned up seemed good enough to me.

Maybe you were looking for higher resolution pics than that. In that case, you should also try the image size drop down box that is present above the image search results.

And as far as quality goes, I might be blinded by my love for google :), but I would dare to say that google’s result quality for this particular query was superior than that of flickr and only slightly inferior to that of stock.xchng.

PS: I love your blog’s new look!

@psd: what can I say, comparing the first result certainly does seem to give google image a better hand! Well, be happy man, I love Google Image Search (TM) :-)

I’ll leave out more detailed arguments on why Google Image search would probably never beat flickr (for all the good work that Google does in automatically searching through unstructured data such as images, I think user-powered folksonomies such as flickr have a much better signal to noise ratio). For now, to each man his own. May the better technology win — I don’t care if its flickr or google image search

Thanks for the compliment. Its not an original design though. Just some modifications to the squible theme for wordpress. I’m still working on it though, so you’ll see more small changes in the coming weeks.
