AIDS Panel

We at [[http://floatingsun.net/udai|Udai]] organized a [[http://floatingsun.net/udai/node/32|Panel on Global Combat against AIDS/HIV]] a few days back. It turned out pretty well, and I learned a lot. We had four speakers — each speaker was given 15 minutes to talk about some of the work that they were doing and generally talk about things they wanted to convey to the audience. This was followed by a panel discussion with audience questions.

Some of the things I liked:

* The turnout was actually quite good. Though it would have been nice to have some more Indians around, considering that Udai is an Indian student organization
* The speakers were all so experienced and had considerable depth in their fields. They had a lot of interesting anecdotes and numbers to share with us
* I was really inspired by the passion of the panelists — they were all so motivated, had such strong feelings towards their respective causes that one could not help but feel a little motivated too
* The dinner afterwards was also quite nice (barring the fact that almost all the speakers got parking tickets)
