I had earlier remarked about an obvious feature from several of the text input/markup plugins available for WordPress. As Joel had suggested, I needed to simply change the hook where the textile2 filter was added, so that my posts would pass through the filter once, at post creation time, and for the subsequent edits I would be presented with the raw HTML, which was fine by me.

So here goes, a test of the Textile 2 engine:

1. Emphasis: emphasis
2. Strong: strong
3. These are already in a list
