A post a day?

Asim thinks its not a good idea. Usually, I’d agree with this. However, in my case in the present circumstances, I think its a good idea, atleast to begin with. I’ll tell you why.

Often times it happens that I go through the day, doing stuff, reading stuff, looking at stuff, but without ever actually giving any thought to any of it. Although I’m not exactly on a lifestyle improvement program here, I’m still trying to make some conscious efforts to make my days more productive and creative (in so far as I am creative, but thats another story!). To this end, I’ve also decided that if it doesn’t happen on its own, I should take out some time each day to just sit back and reflect: not get lost in the details, but try to think about the big picture kind of thing.

Everyday I come across a lot of interesting news, thoughts. And only those thoughts really stay back with me on which I have discussions with someone. Discussions are stimulating, and writing a blog post for me is something akin to a discussions—perhaps with my readers, perhaps with my self. Nonetheless, it forces me to think, and write down my thoughts in a coherent, interesting fashion.

So I think its a good idea to atleast make an attempt to write a daily post. Of course, this is not a regimentation, and I’m not going to torture myself if I can’t come up with anything, but given that a day is so long, barring lack of time (an excuse which I don’t like) there should be no reason why I don’t have anything to write about :)
