Interesting stuff

Good old M$ has opened a new campus in Hyderabad. Touted to be the biggest development center outside of the US, the center is part of Microsoft’s commitment of a $400 million investment over 3 years.

Back home, CNET is trying to investigate the relationship between Microsoft and SCO. Its a long article, but worth the read. Here’s a quote that I think summarizes the situation “Although Linux threatens Microsoft, SCO was a convenient ally rather than a Microsoft puppet in the Linux fight”.

Over in the IT and public policy course, our group is still struggling with a clear project definition. We have a lot of data and a bit too many issues to look at. The problem with outsourcing is that is has more social and ethical aspects to it than policy (well atleast among those that we know of). And since this is a public policy course, we are trying to focus more on the policy issues.

Hopefully things will shape up in the next couple of days. Life’s going to get very busy, very soon!
