Paritrana Update

Seeing how popular my [[http://floatingsun.net/blog/2006/01/21/476/|aside]] on [[http://paritrana.org/|Paritrana]] was, I decided to write a full fledged post and address all the comments in the aforementioned aside.

First of all, **I’m not a Paritrana member** as many of the comments seem to imply/assume. Paritrana first came to my attention because two of my batchmates from IITK are involved in it.

Secondly, someone said (and I agree) that a big deal should not be made out of Paritrana simply because IIT and IIM graduates are involved in it. As others have pointed out, there are/were other such efforts before Paritrana, and all of them should command an equal respect/attention. For instance, there is [[http://www.samudai.org/|Samudai Bharati]] and [[http://bharatudaymission.org/|Bharat Udai Mission]]. However, what //does// distinguish Partirana is that they are already launched and out there.

Third, I want to request the Paritrana founders to kindly put together a decent website. These days its trivial to get a dynamic website up and running (just use WordPress or Drupal). The current website not only doesn’t work properly even in Firefox, it doesn’t even provide the information that most people want. For instance, looking at the comments on my post, it seems that there is a LOT of interest in Paritrana all over India, and if people were able to give feedback and publish their comments on the Paritrana website itself, I think it would have been a huge moral boost for the members as well as give Paritrana greater visibility in the media. Then of course I have minor nitpicks with the Javascript menus and the “Untitled Document” title on every page. I can understand that “putting together a good website” might not be your biggest concern right now, but in the age we’re living in, I think its something you definitely want to seriously consider soon ™.

Finally, if you have questions/comments/suggestions for Paritrana, please direct them at [[info@paritrana.org]] (as their website [[http://paritrana.org/contactus.htm|clearly states]]). They even have a phone number!

Hats off to founders of PARITRANA..! At this time, we need such a party to make our coutry prosperous. One voice from crore ppl, cant make any differnce. We need unity to speak up for our country. As we all know, to change the system, we have to be the part of the system and must have to go deep, in to the system. I am confident about PARITRANA with same expectation.PARITRANA has proved that, our contry is not of the ppl, who make their face off frm their responsibilities towards country. If such educated and bravo ppl will speak up, I am sure, our country’s all disorders will be evaporated.

@ajay: Making a great website is hard, making a good website is not. I’m sure Paritrana folks have a lot of other, more important things to take care of, and so do I.

Instead of talking about PARITRANA all the time lets all of us who care for the nation and the party make some tangible contributions in any manner be it financially or through creating awareness or by social work to keep the great concept alive. There isn’t any skeptism that these IITians are going to face the wrath of current pilitics which can do anything to supress the young voice so lets come up with ideas to keep the momentum going but finally its high time to act than mere utterance of words.

In hyderabad Paritrana T-Shirts are on sale with the ‘CYNOSURES’ who are doing it with the sole motif of creating awareness about Paritrana.

I just came to know about this political party and am really impressed by this. I do want to know more about the ideology. Its great to see the kind of response it is generating (atleast on the web). I sure hope they succeed. If they contest in Hyderabad ever, and I like their ideology, I’ll make sure they get 20 votes for sure ;)

You seem to be a good friend of theirs, great! Also from IIT, all the more better!

I am not going into all the commendation about Paritrana (I liked the name for sure)…it is undoubtedly hopped up.

I just want to know are these guys doing anything for Mandal II…. I mean is it somewhere in their agenda?

If yes, and also if they want followers and supporters……how to contact them?

  15. diwaker

*@ruchi*: I should clarify that these folks are barely acquaintances. Calling them good friends would be stretching it a bit too far. Even then, I just know two of the team personally. Finally, I don’t see why everyone being from IIT is a good thing. Regarding Mandal II, I really have no idea myself. I hope they are. You should check their website for contact and support information.

Hi DG, just happened to stumble upon your blog. The point is quite obvious but I am quite surprised that the PM hasn’t come out with any explanation! His silence implies his agreement with the decision. I am wondering whether there is still any point that we are not able to see! It would be naive to think that the person who masterminded the country’s rescue from the financial crisis and brought about reforms would be dumb enough to push it 20 years back. The only thing we can hope for is some transparency and explanation.

  17. diwaker

*@tanmay*: Hey Pintu, nice to see you here man! Pata nahin yaar, the politics of this country has become so hard to follow these days. No one is “good” or “bad”, everyone has shades of grey. Parties are not ideologies anymore, they have become a collection of people with similar goals and compromises. Aise mein its tough to judge what kind of constraints the PM has. Lets hope for the best!
